Description

This came from a magician’s estate sale. Good pre-owned condition. Written instructions are included. You receive six jumbo Bicycle cards and one regular jumbo die. The regular size playing card and die seen in the second picture are used for size comparison and are not included.

Effect: Six jumbo cards are shown, turned face down, mixed up, and then placed face down on the table in a row. One of the six cards is selected by the spectator. The other five cards are gathered up and placed aside. The magician states that he has found a new method for determining what the value of the selected card is and that it never fails. Next a jumbo die is handed to the spectator, who is asked to look it over carefully and then roll the die on the table while the magician’s back is turned. Whatever number comes up the spectator is asked to look at the bottom number of the die and add the two numbers. The spectator is told to divide the total of the two numbers by two. They will get 3-1/2. The magician turns back around and pretends to be stumped and that something has gone terribly wrong. “Three and a half can’t be correct. Are you sure you added and divided correctly?” Says the performer. The spectator checks again and verifies the answer is correct. The magician states he was told this new system was supposed to work so the spectator is asked to turn the selected card over anyway, and surprisingly , the selected card is the 3 1/2 of clubs!

Believe us, this is a great trick for the layman! It probably won’t fool the magician’s but they may appreciate the nu-way this is performed as only one fake card is used and can be handled more freely.
