Howard Thurston (1869 – 1936) was one of the most successful magicians of the early twentieth century. Thurston traveled the world with what was at the time the biggest magic show ever created – during one tour he advertised that he traveled with thirteen tons of magic. Over the course of his career he performed before Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, and Calvin Coolidge, as well as before heads of state across the world.
