Description
Pre-owned from an old magician’s estate purchase. 1961 Stars of Magic by Louis Tannen. Good and clean interior pages. Blue cloth with gilt stamping on front cover and spine, illustrated, 168 pages. Front and rear covers have some spotting on their surfaces.
Originally these were a series of single issues of effects by the top magicians of the day. Lou Tannen bought the series and compiled them into book form, published the book, and sold them from his magic shop in New York City. Magic with cards, coins, cigarettes, handkerchiefs, and more! All by masters of the art that are now no longer with us. There are lots of pictures to make everything clear! Fantastic! You can’t go wrong with this great book! It’s also a great introduction to yesterday’s masters of magic!
The magic by John Scarne, Dai Vernon, Bert Allerton, S. Leo Horowitz, Emil Jarrow, Francis Carlyle, Dr. Jacob Daley, Tony Slydini, Ross Bertram, Nate Leipzig, and Max Malini helped shape the art of close-up magic as we know it. If you take the time to learn some of the magic contained in this book you have every right to call yourself a good close-up magician!
Universally heralded as one of the great compendiums of close-up and parlor magic with everyday objects (primarily cards and coins) published in the twentieth century!
