Description
This is a new old stock (NOS) vintage set; copyright 1957. Comes with the original instructions that include additional effects that can be performed with the cards.
Ed Mellon’s Synonymental allows you to apparently predict in advance not one but three future events!
Effect: Eighteen printed words are laid out (face down) in three rows of six cards. Each card is different; there are no duplicates. A spectator places a pen or pencil on one of the cards in the first row. The rest of the cards in that row are turned over and shown to be different.
Next, the spectator is asked to place a cigarette on any card in the second row. And finally, the spectator is asked to toss a quarter on any card in the third row.
In each case and after every selection has been made, the remaining cards are shown to be different.
Yet when spectator turns over the card with the pencil on it, the card says “PENCIL,” the card with the cigarette says “Cigarette” and the card with the coin says “Quarter.”
This is a knockout and breathtaking triple climax!
And again, out of the entire collection of cards, there are no duplicates, and the spectator has chosen the three with the name of their object laid on them!
Note: This effect was created when cigarette smoking was common. Today not so much. Once you learn the secret and handling you can do away with the use of the cigarette and use another object.
