Description
Effect: A matchbox is shown with a ribbon running lengthwise through it. The drawer of the box is opened from one side and then the other showing that the ribbon is threaded between the cover and the drawer.
A spectator holds both ends of the ribbon suspending the matchbox from the ribbon in midair. The box is then placed on a table with the spectator holding both ends of the ribbon down against the table.
The magician proceeds to place an opaque handkerchief over the matchbox while the ends of the ribbon held by the spectator remain in full view. To conclude, the magician reaches under the silk, and when the silk is whisked away the ribbon is seen to have penetrated through the cover of the matchbox!
The match box is now free from the ribbon!
